Education in Gabon

Education is compulsory for children ages 6 to 16 years. Many parents also send their children to nursery or crèche. Kindergarten (Jardins d'Enfants), is followed by primary School (École Primaire) for six grades, and then (École Secondaire) which is made up of seven grades. The planned graduation age is 19 years old. French is the language of education.
