Chile Education

French & German International Schools

German International schools often follow a curriculum model that combines Chilean and German models, with classes in both Spanish and German. Some schools are primarily Spanish speaking. but receive funding from the German government if a percentage of the student body becomes proficient in the German language.

French International schools can be found around the world as they are the largest network of schools abroad. Instruction is in French and schools are usually members of the AEFE (Agency for French Teaching Abroad). Curriculum is approved by the French Ministry of Education.

Accreditation

The CoIS (Council of International Schools) is a non-profit association of international schools and post-secondary institutions which provides educational accreditation, teacher and leadership recruitment services, links to higher education, governance assistance and help with founding new schools. European Council of International Schools (ECIS) offers membership for European schools abroad.

Founded in 1858 by Carlos Anwandter, the school is not officially bilingual but receives support from the government of Germany depending on how many students approve the DSH German language test.
